The closest airport to Mysore is Bengaluru International Airport. It is 40km (25miles) east of the city center, approximately a four-hour drive from Mysore.

Other options from Bangalore airport are to take a pre-paid taxi, bus or train into Mysore. The Shatabdi express train leaves from the Bangalore city railway station. Once on the Shatabdi Express, the ride takes two hours. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus terminal is also located directly across from Bangalore city railway station. Upon arrival at the Mysore railway station or bus terminal, auto-rickshaws and taxis are readily available.
Exchanging money, traveler’s checks, and finding ATMs that accept most bankcards are relatively easy in Mysore.

After your arrival and registration at the Institute, enquire with Krishna Murthy or Anupama regarding accommodation, scooter rental, and other necessities. Krishna Murthy has an office around the corner from the Kpjay shala.
Respect Indian culture and tradition
During your stay, please be mindful of your behavior in the neighborhood and with the local community. Women should cover the knees, shoulders, and chest area while in public (shawls can be purchased easily). Public displays of affection between men and women are also generally not approved. These are just a few things to note about the local custom, and your willingness to pay attention to such things is a way of respecting the locals as well as remembering your respect to Guruji and the Institute.
